William T. McKeon Jr., of North Haven, formerly of New Haven passed away November 27, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven March 16, 1925, son of the late New Haven Police Officer William T. McKeon Sr. and Mary Ann Flynn McKeon, Bill was a proud US Army veteran serving in the 132nd Artillery Battalion in Europe during WWII. He was a graduate of St. Peter’s grammar school, Hillhouse High School and Central CT State University. After returning from his service, Bill worked for the New Haven-New York- & Hartford Railroad before becoming a surveyor with he State of CT Department of Transportation, a position he held for over 30 years. He is the beloved brother of Claire A. McKeon and the late Mary McKeon. Bill was a kind and humble man, always will to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Visiting hours will be held Monday morning from 8:30-9:30 in the Monahan, Cox, Smith & Crimmins Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Divine Mercy Parish (St. Stephen Church) 400 Ridge Rd. in Hamden at 10am. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Humane Society 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or to Animal Haven 89 Mill Rd, North Haven, CT 06473.
