Vita M. Leonardi

Vita M. Leonardi, passed away January 4, 2019 at her home in Miami, FL. Vita was born on June 15, 1940 near Las Cruces, NM daughter of the late Matteo and Candelaria Mancha. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Peter G. Leonardi, her sons Daniel M. Mancha and his wife Alma, of El Paso, TX and Peter M. Leonardi and his wife Olga, of Guilford and New York City, and her daughter Linda Alexis and her husband  James M. Yeske Jr. of New Haven.  Vita was predeceased a brother and sister and is survived by three brothers and three sisters all living in the Southwest, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Vita had worked for many years as a hairdresser in Hamden. She enjoyed bicycling and gardening during her summers in East Haven. Vita's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital. 
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass Saturday January 26, 2019 at 11am in St. Bernadette Church 385 Townsend Ave. in New Haven. The Monahan, Cox, Smith & Crimmins Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Haven Animal Shelter 189 Commerce St. East Haven, CT 06512.
