John Joseph Pierson Jr.

John Joseph Pierson Jr., of Branford passed away August 31, 2020 at the Summit of Plantsville. Born in New Haven on June 3, 1943 son of the late John Joseph Pierson Sr. and Elizabeth Casey Pierson, John worked for Yale University for almost 40 years. He had a great love of his Irish heritage and was a member of the New Haven Gaelic Football & Hurling Club. John was an avid sports fan and could be heard cheering on the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He is the beloved father of Janine Pierson and her partner Kris. Brother of the late Marilyn and Elizabeth Pierson. He is also survived by his former wife and friend Doreen Briggs Pierson and several nieces, nephews, and cousins,

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a  Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church 355 Foxon Rd. in East Haven. Burial will be private. Masks and social distancing are required. The Monahan, Cox, Smith & Crimmins Funeral Home, Inc. has been entrusted with John's arrangements.
